Gluten Love

well, daniel is adjusting just fine to his new gluteny-status. he announces to everyone at mealtime that "doctor said i can eat glu-ten!" we are all glad to have the gluten box come up from the basement (full of food that i couldn't bear to just throw away when we started this 4 months ago.) our pantry has about doubled. and so far, no ill effects....

Hi Christy, I was just checking on your blog and saw your last post and this one. I am glad that Daniel doesn't have Celiac, because of all the worry and money and menu planning and stress that goes into this. But at the same time I understand your reason for wanting to cry because the reason for him being sick is not solved. And hopefully what happened to him will never happen again. But I remember the months that we took Aubrey to the dr. trying to convince her there was something wrong and she just kept pushing us off onto something else. I hope that you become relieved by the results and that Daniel will grow and not experience any more major health issues. But good for you for getting tested just to make sure. Enjoy the gluten diet for us. :) :)

I think it is hard anytime you really believe something and then the shock of finding out it wasn't true. I'm sure because Daniel was responding so well to the diet, how could you not have been convinced? And then to find out, "Nope. Not that."

Plus, you're thinking, "great, I'm going to go home and give him gluten and he's gonna get sick and get poked and pricked all over again and the madness will recontinue."

But PTL this didn't happen and that he is eating gluten just swell. I'm sooo happy for you!

Hey sis... I'm so happy to hear that Daniel doesn't have celiac. I'm praying that whatever the issue was last summer it was simply a blip and has passed with no further worrying or issues to come.

PS I know we don't talk much but I always read your blog. My way of finding out the latest and greatest. Good stuff... thinking of starting my own since I can't seem to pick up the phone and call anyone. Makes it easier to keep in touch, or at least seems to... for whatever reason. Anyway love to the family and hope to see you this year for an extended CO visit.
